Is travel insurance required to enter Egypt?

For international travelers to visit Egypt, they must provide proof of travel insurance to enter. Will Trawick International travel insurance be accepted for your Egypt trip?

Great news for international travelers wanting to visit Egypt, all of Trawick International travel insurance policies will be accepted by the Egyptian government.  We recommend purchasing a trip cancellation plan which provides the most comprehensive coverage possible. These coverages include trip cancellation, interruption, trip delay, travel baggage, and more.

Optional Cancel for Any Reason Coverage

Trawick International offers the hard-to-find and rarely available Cancel for Any Reason benefit on select Trawick International trip cancellation plans.  Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) provides reimbursement for 75% of the prepaid, nonrefundable, forfeited payments you paid for your trip if you cancel your trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this policy - like border closures, travel bans, or if you just decide that you do not want to travel anymore.  This coverage MUST be purchased with the initial policy and within 21 days of the initial trip deposit date, and the full, nonrefundable trip cost is insured. (This benefit is not available in every US state).

Do Trawick International trip cancellations plans cover COVID-19?

Yes, our plans treat COVID-19 like any other sickness. To get a quote, click the "Get a Quote" box a the bottom or top of this page.

How much does travel insurance cost?

Several factors determine how much your travel insurance will cost, such as your age, trip cost, length of trip, and other factors.  Travel insurance will only cost a fraction of your trip cost and can provide vital protection to you if something unforeseen could occur.  Just remember when purchasing a plan with trip cancellation, you should include all non-refundable travel expenses so you can recover the investment in the event your trip is canceled or interrupted.

When should you buy travel insurance?

To obtain the most coverage, we recommend you purchase a travel insurance plan 21 days before the initial trip deposit date and include all prepaid, nonrefundable trip costs.   Even if you don’t purchase travel insurance during the initial 21 day period, you can still buy it. Still, you may not be eligible for time-sensitive benefits such as CFAR or Financial Default.

Does Trawick International cover mandatory COVID testing to reenter the USA?

Effective January 26, 2021, all travelers flying into the United States will need to show a negative COVID-19 test before reentering the country. Airlines will be responsible for confirming the negative test results for all passengers before they board a flight to the United States. The cost of this mandatory test is not a covered benefit under any of our travel insurance plans. If a traveler does not receive the test results in time, this would not be a covered travel delay/trip interruption benefit.  Travelers need to make sure to plan accordingly to make sure their results will be received before their flights are scheduled to depart.  In the event someone has a positive test, there could be travel delay coverage available to cover costs for additional accommodations due to quarantine.
