Interested in Traveling to the United States for the High Holidays?

Visitor Medical Insurance for Israel Travel to US

As we celebrate the High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, many travelers from Israel are wondering if they are allowed to visit the United States. At this time, there is no restriction for non-United States travelers to enter the country or to obtain travel insurance. This is great news for citizens of Israel who have family in the United States and want to visit them and celebrate the High Holidays as a family.

With the ongoing pandemic occurring in the United States and globally, travelers need to take additional precautions to protect themselves and their families when traveling. One protection that travelers should consider is purchasing travel medical insurance. Why should a traveler from Israel need to obtain travel medical insurance? The government of the United States does not provide healthcare for visitors from outside of the United States. It is essential to get travel medical insurance if your policy doesn’t cover you while you’re abroad or if your policy limits your coverage during the pandemic.

With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we at Trawick International offer several plans for Citizens/Residents of Israel to choose from that provide coverage for COVID-19 related expenses. We treat COVID-19 the same as any other illness. Trawick International is one of the few travel medical insurance providers that offer this type of coverage. For your added peace of mind, we also provide a visa letter that states COVID-19 is covered as well.

We, at Trawick International, recognize how valuable it is for all family members to get together during the High Holidays and to make sure travelers above the age of 65 are eligible for travel medical insurance.

We offer three policies for travelers from outside the United States. Our Safe Travels USA and Safe Travels USA Cost Saver insurance plans provide primary medical coverage, which will take care of your covered medical expenses, including hospitalization, surgery, physician visits and prescriptions. Both cover Unexpected Recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition up to $1000. The Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan offers Up to $1,000,000 in medical coverage. This plan also has coverage for Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition up to the maximum for most ages and up to $35,000 ages 70 and over. All three plans offer up to $100,000 of medical expense coverage for ages 70- 79 and $50,000 up to age 89.

How to Shop for Coverage for Visitors to the USA

Visitors Coverage for USA

How to Shop for Coverage for Visitors to the USA?

While many other countries provide medical coverage for free to citizens and, in some cases, visitors, the United States is not one of them. For those from other countries who are traveling, immigrating, or staying in the United States for other reasons, traveler’s insurance can be very important. Though we all hope that there is no need for it, considering the steep healthcare prices in the U.S. it is simply best to be safe rather than sorry. That is why we threw together this quick guide on how to shop for coverage for visitors to the US.

The most important thing to consider when you are shopping for visitor’s insurance is to compare plans. While it might seem easy to just go with the first plan that you find if it sounds good, finding the best option requires research and comparison. Until you look at multiple plans, it is easy to overlook what you might have been missing in another. You always want to seek out the best price and coverage in combination to make it worth your while. A little extra work here can go a long way towards finding you the best option.

If you want an easy and effective way to look for high-quality plans, the internet is the best way to go about it. You can simply search for visitor’s insurance and be met with a collection of sites that are ready to help you find a plan that is right for you. Often times, these websites will help you to choose a plan based on your specific traveling circumstances and needs. This can make it easier for you to get insurance that covers the time-span and kinds of circumstances that you are likely to face.

The biggest consideration when it comes to finding the right plan is why you will be in the country. Students traveling abroad might have different needs, or might even be able to get insurance through their schools. On the other hand, immigrants who are waiting on their green card or have just gotten it might need something more comprehensive and long-term. Be prepared to research what kinds of coverage you will need so that you can guarantee that the plan you end up choosing has it. This is the best way to go about getting insurance that will keep you covered when you really need it.

The good news is that visitor’s insurance is growing in popularity, which means you can easily find access to a variety of plan options that can help you put your mind at ease. Choosing the right plan is simply a matter of considering your needs, the duration of your stay, and how much you want to pay. After you have singled out the insurance policy that you want, you can make an easy online purchase and rest easy knowing that you are covered. As you begin your search, try looking at a minimum of five options before making a choice to ensure that you find quality coverage.

Can I Get Health Insurance Before I Get My Green Card?

Can I Get Health Insurance Before I Get My Green Card?

Individuals who are working towards becoming legal residents within the United States find that obtaining healthcare can be a bit of a dance. Since most insurance plans require citizenship or a green card in order for you to be eligible, many people are left wondering if it is possible to get health insurance at all before their green card is finalized. Since health insurance is necessary for people of all ages, backgrounds, and health levels, this can cause a lot of stress. The good news is that it is completely possible to get health insurance before you get a green card. All it takes is a little extra work.

The first thing to consider when it comes to gaining access to health insurance plans is when you actually applied or your green card. Depending on when you applied for your card and a variety of other factors, you might be able to qualify for some of the plans available in the healthcare marketplace. While many plans require you to have had a green card, and for some time at that, this is not the case for all of them, so research here is key.

Depending on the circumstances by which you are in the country, you might have a couple of other options. The first option is Visitor’s Insurance. This type of insurance is known for covering people who are in the United States but are not considered citizens. Though the qualifications on these plans do vary, it might be a good place to start, particularly if you are relatively new to the country. There are many types of Visitor’s Insurance and if you need more details, call our customer helpline and one of our trained customer representatives can guide you.

As a final step, you can seek out individual short-term insurance plans. While not all of the ones available will give access to non-residents, there are many that will offer coverage. The downside here is that these insurance plans are really more focused on hospitalizations and emergencies. They are useful in the event that you get sick or are seriously injured. However, they are not helpful when it comes to general maintenance and care. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to go about accessing general care options at a reduced price if you do not have insurance that covers it. This makes it easier for many families, particularly those with children, to navigate the time between when they enter the United States and when they gain access to quality healthcare options.

At the end of the day, finding insurance before you have a green card is a process. It is true that there are many programs and policies that you will not have access to. However, there are options available as long as you are willing to put in the research to find them. Be thorough when you are looking for insurance options that you qualify for, and you should be able to bridge the gap while you wait for your green card to come through.

Travel Tip Tuesday: What to Pack in Your Carry-On

undefined

1. Headphones

For listening to music, watching a movie or drowning out the snoring man next to you, headphones are a necessary part of any flight.

2. Water

Staying hydrated is so important when it comes to traveling, especially on those long flights. You don’t want to start your trip off on the wrong foot! Keep an extra bottle of water with you at all times.

3. Portable Phone Charger

Whether you are using your phone to listen to music, or browsing Facebook during your flight, chances are that it will drain your battery life. Packing a portable charger will ensure that your phone will never be dead (as long as you make sure to charge it)!

4. Change of Clothes

Bringing a change of clothes is always a good idea just in case something happens to your luggage, you won’t be stuck in the same dirty clothes. It is also a good idea to bring a change of clothes with you in case your flight is cold and you need to bundle up more!

5. Snacks

Airplanes do offer snacks most of the time, but they are usually loaded with sodium. Pack extra snacks for yourself to avoid bloating and feeling bad!

6. Toiletries

It’s always a good idea to throw a hair brush, tooth brush and toothpaste and maybe even some dry shampoo in your carry on. You may arrive to your hotel before your check in time and these can come in handy when you need to freshen up after a long flight!

7. Reading Material

Investing in a good book for your flight can be a game changer. If you’re one of those people who just cannot fall asleep on a flight, diving into a good book can make time go by so much faster.

These are just a few of our most important items to include in your carry-on bag. If you have a go-to item that you always include in your carry-on let us know what it is by leaving a comment below! We would love to hear from you.

As the second most populous city in the UAE, it is very tourist friendly. If you need some suggestions on where to go, we have a couple.

Abu Dhabi has some of the most luxurious hotels in the world, and many of them have their own themed bars. La Cava wine bar in the Rosewood Hotel is actually located underground and includes more than 10,000 distinct labels, including some of the priciest bottles in all of the UAE. The tropically themed Trader Vic’s is also a good option, known for its Polynesian-themed bar in the Beach Rotana hotel.

A night on the town isn’t complete without some dancing, and you’ll find plenty of world-class nightclubs in Abu Dhabi fusing fantastic music with the city’s astute attention to innovative, forward thinking design. Legends at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort is one of the recent clubs to emerge in the city and is known for its Monday Open Bar Night. A number of drinks are available at half their regular price.

Before you plan your trip to Abu Dhabi, make sure to purchase the necessary travel insurance and do your research on its customs.
